I'm just overwhelmed with this one. I checked my ground spots and they all read 0 on my Fluke. I tried both amps together in one spot, in seperate spots, and even tried a new spot. Also decided to run the HU directly from the battery and bypass the harness...no change. This is what I tried and results:
1.Sub amp not powered = no noise.
2. Both amps powered with all connections = lots of noise front speakers.
3. Both amps powered and RCA's from sub disconnected from HU = less noise front speakers.
4. Both amps powered and RCA's from front amp disconnected from HU = very slight noise front speakers.
5. Both amps powered and RCA's disconnected from sub amp = less noise front speakers.
6. Both amps powered and RCA's disconnected from front amp = no noise.
7. Both amps powered and RCA's disconnected from both sub and front amps = no noise.
8. Front amp not powered with all above connections = no noise.
So why no noise with either front amp not powered, or sub amp not powered, and only when RCA's disconnected from front amp with both powered? What else can I possibly look for? Again I ask....can power wires pick up noise somehow? Is there a bigger grounding issue than the spots for the amps? Thanks for much needed help before I loose it.
