That noise......

how loud is the noise? can you hear it from your seat or do you have to put your ear up to the speaker?
It is loud enough to hear outside the Tahoe. In fact it's loud enough to need over half volume to drown it. That is with all RCA's hooked up.

Thanks, I'll try that. I just read on another thread that the amps should not touch any metal. Could that be the problem? The amps don't fit under seats without touching the seat frames. That would be too easy....

Well I have tried it all, even down to grounding HU with amps. So I think it has to be amps. I put another sub amp in, and now the sub is quiet. Took two channel out of my truck and tried it, and whole system is now quiet. Put Zed sub amp back in with two channel out of my truck still installed and sub makes noise again. So how can two brand new Zed amps cause noise, but other amps work fine? I would think it too much of a coincidence two amps are bad....or am I that lucky?

I skimmed over the post so forgive me if its been mentioned. PART - 1 Have you unplugged the RCA's at the at HU (keep all connected at amps) See if you have noise. No Noise plug one in at a time till you get noise (do this radio off, turn back on each time you add a new connection (even L/R for that matter)) IF you have noise after part 1 Unplug one at a time at the amps, try to isolate the issue to one component.

I'll check back in the morning

Well now it's just out of hand. I put the Zed amp in my truck install, and it works just fine with no noise at all. So both the Zed two channel and sub amp make noise in my Tahoe install, but work fine in my truck. My JL 300/2 and a Rainbow 2KW work fine in the Tahoe with no noise. Any sense in that?

Not much sense, no. That would mean that there is a problem with the install in the Tahoe that the Zeds are sensitive to that the other two amps are not. The only thing I could think of at this point is the Zeds might be sensitive to the emi coming off the fuel pump or might be getting interference of some sort from it. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. I wouldn't trust just any shop to try to fix the problem, I would say that's it's beyond their ability to figure out. I would find a really high end and most importatnly reputable shop to troubleshoot this. That way you will know that there is going to be an actual fix to a known problem rather than just a cover-up of the symptoms.

What are other sources of interference? I did move the grounds around again which test out good as the previous ones did, and the sound is still there, but different. This is sooo annoying.

I believe the body module is the one under the drivers seat. I'll have to check on the fuel pump, but I'm sure it's close as the amps are under the back seat. Hassle getting under the Tahoe as I lowered it, but have to install some bilstiens anyway. Does the fuel pump do anything in the accessory position?
