I myself own an AR-15 as part of my 40+ collection of guns. I go to the range regularly and have fun while i am there. just because people dont use speakers as weapons doesnt mean they cant be used in that manner. i could easily throw one or drop one on your head and kill you. so by your logic since it can kill people it should be banned.

My guns have never killed anyone and they never will unless i am defending myself or my family. but if i ever needed to use them for protection i would not hesitate to use deadly force on anyone trying to harm me or my family. In Tn you have the right to use deadly force if you feel that your life is threatened and many have done so.

People on here are talking about using AR-15's for mass murder. Please tell me one time someone has ran into a mall or anywhere and starting shooting people with an "assault" weapon and they killed more than a few people...a few people is not mass murder and could easily be done with a pistol. If i were going to be in a gun fight where the enemy was closer than about 50 yards i would take a pistol over a rifle any day because it is easier to conceal and maneuver.

A few people have been talking about the gov or police trying to take guns away from law abiding citizens. If that day ever came i would hope that every gun owning person laugh at them and defend their right to own guns to the death if it came to that...i sure would

Would you seriously die to keep your guns? If someone showed up at your house and tried to take them you would kill them? You talk about defending your family but just think of the position they would be in without guns AND you. I understand fighting for your rights but going to prison for life or dieing just to be able to go hunting or to a shooting range is not worth it to me. There are other ways to go about things. If anything you would be giving them more of a reason to not permit people to have assault rifles.

They banned smoking in public places here and I know a few people that have either stopped smoking or at least calmed it down. It may not fix shit but it could help

The government is trying to ban assault rifles. They are semi-automatic and are relatively no different than handguns. If they take away assault rifles with ease I guarantee those pussi footed liberals will try to take the rest of our "arms" which is in violation of the constitution. If the government comes to my door to take my guns I as an American have the RIGHT to protect my rights as stated by the constitution. So yes, I will die or kill for, not just mine but yours also, rights guaranteed by the constitution. He is not killing or dieing for his guns but the sheer principle that those guns symbolize. would you die to protect your right to free speech? if nobody is willing to die or fight for their rights then we wouldn't have any rights. soldiers die everyday protecting our rights. just because i am not in the military and i am not in some foreign country doesn't mean that i can't fight for my rights. the soldiers fight foreign enemies and i would be fighting the enemies we have in the us. if you are trying to take away any of the rights outlined in the constitution then you are an enemy of the u.s. it doesn't matter if you are the president or not

like seth said it is not just about owning guns and shooting them it is the principle of things. The moment you start laying down and letting someone walk all over you they will continue to do so. But I don't care about the rights to bare arms. He can die for the rest but I get my guns illegally anyway so he's not really helping me at all.

I honestly could care less what kind of gun is banned or if they are or are not banned. My point was is it worth it to die for something that no one will take notice of. If the ban is put in place and he tries to defend himself they are going to shoot him and say "this is why we have to get these weapons out of the people's hands."
