when testing amps on those smd machines....... whats the difference between certified and uncertified dynamic runs, dynamic bursts, uncertified dynamic bursts??? for real world results which one should you pay attention to?

Not sure on the numbers but I think certified is 1% or 0.1% distortion while un-certified is 1% or 5% distortion.

Has something to do with when it stops pushing the amp for more power with regards to distortion %. At least that's what I gather from Steve's videos.

edit: dynamic is similar to music as it has varying levels of sound whereas the other non dynamic tests (forget the name) are just a sin wave at a certain frequency.

the certified and un cert. runs are a sign wave = about the most abusive current drawing sound form there is / besides clipping / distortion

in real world music - there are pauses and gaps between bass notes and notes in general - as a sign wave is just power all the time - no rest for the amp.

dynamic burst is suposed to be similar to a song playing that has a nice bass hit once every 2 or 3 seconds for just that short quick little bass hit that lasts .5 seconds or whatever the amp is capable of putting out like a ( insert joke here )

everyone got it covered with the differences, but I would still say get an amp that passes the certified runs especially if you have music that have extremely long heavy bass notes.
