Tennesee Schools start drug spray detection?

What do you consider a drug? Marijuana? Methamphetamine? Opioids? If so, odds are you, yourself, have ingested / taken the last two at least once in your life. Even if it's not crystal meth, or heroin. Everyone has. It's just who gives it to you that's the real legality.

I don't do drugs, but I really couldn't care less if anyone did it. If my kid is dumb enough to get caught up in that, I'll try to help him. But it's his prerogative. You can't people-- most people can barely keep their own head out of water yet other people's.

Cliffs: Who cares?
I have never (knowingly) ingested any drugs. I have never smoked anything. I have drank like a fish and previously chewed Kodiak.

I care. They are my kids.

Would you want to think they are using drugs when they where not? Do you think they will say, "John tested positive on this spray. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the dope on him, but we assume he is a user."
If they test positive for the spray, we will take a short ride over to the Dr. office for a blood test. If it is negative, then all is good. If positive, then I will be planning a funeral from my jail cell.

Id personally let them spray me down then when I tested negative Id grab the can and throw it across campus or break it on a wall, and be like ***** dont ever try that shit again.
Yea your cool...And im sure you would put the "b!tch" part in there also?

This won't last. I see the state getting sued quickly and then they will decide it isn't worth it. What really bothers me is they are targeting consumers instead of the source of the drugs. Way to spend your money Tennessee.

Yes, because the child will suffer no harm for a false positive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif:rolleyes:

See thats one of my points, there will be damage to the kids self esteem at the very least and distaste for the high school administration. Don't you think he's going to take it out on someone, somewhere, somehow?

Targeting the source gets special ops killed in Columbia //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

As a youngin I would have thought "well if I am gonna get blamed for it and my parents don't trust me, then I will go out and do it".

So if my kid tests positive with the spray at school and he test positive from a blood test, then he is still clean. Got it.

Sorry I will move on.

EDIT:

I would love to prove myself innocent if I were that. I would only oppose a test if I knew the outcome would not favor me.

I think we've all agreed this is just a bad idea from the Tennessee state schools. They're going to easily open themselves up to civil suits and my tax dollars will go to fund needless litigation.

Thanks Tenneesee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cuddle.gif.bd1b29c179c0482f8313dbd790b74c94.gif

I don't agree with tests that involve such a high rate of false positives like this spray. As a parent if you suspect your child then the a urine or blood test should be done if you want. Then deal with it in the confines of your own home. However, a school should not be able to publicly use a process such as this as a basis for suspicion when it is obvious how many false positives it can fire off.
