people tell me to stop waisting my time and go with a JLW7 but i'm not looking for loud subs.. im looking for quality sounding subs

Heard good things about the x-type...mate heard 1 in america and said it was a good balance of spl and SQ.

the w7 is a potent SQ sub. But in price difference the X doesnt seem like a bad deal. Still I think you can find something in your pricerange that isn't an X that is better deal.

The W7 was designed to be an ultra-SQ sub with balls......

That was the type x component sets. I think the crossover was failing on a few of them. they fixed all of them.

The subs just came out, i don't know of any problems yet. I do know that if they are better sound quality than my type r's, you've got one hell of a sub.

Every 12" Type X from the initial batch were sent with shorted voice coils //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Shitty thing is, Alpine was basically no help to the dealers that got the ones with shorted voice coils. Alpine was making the dealers pay for the freight costs to ship them back (not cheap) ..............

So I wouldn't buy any 12" Type X's off of ebay, cause you know the likelyhood that they are the damaged version...........

ahh, an ALPINE MRD-M1001 (1000rms at 2 ohm) amp is what im looking at buying

and should i port a type-X ? or seal? and what do i tune it to??? 80hz?

if the type-X sub is anywhere near as good as the Type-X components are then im buying it tomorow
