audio project

ok, i'm thinking of getting an audio project car. i already know what car i want, but i want to ask about subs and wiring. i want to get 2 15" xxx's and 2 10" xxx's and do a lotta fiberglass work in the trunk/spare tire well for the box. i'm pretty set on this setup, so i'll probably go with it unless someone gives me a real good reason not to. anyways, i would like to use two amps for them if at all possible, so what voice coils should i go with? should i get dual 2 ohm, or dual 1 ohm to get two of the subs to a one ohm load, i dont think the quad 2 ohm would work, but if it does let me know. i want to get two hifonics 1800 watt amps. one for the 10's and one for the 15's. maybe a 1500 and an 1800...we'll see. but which configuration should i go with to get my desired ohm load at the amp?

1) Not a good idea to go with the two different size subs. Either go with something like 4 10s or 3 15s, but don't mix and match them.

2) If you want to run a 1ohm mono amp to each sub, then get the 2ohm/coil DVC subs.

ok, thanks for the answer to my question.

i'll do more research about the different size thing, but for now i plan on going with it. but it will be quite a while before i finish it so i have plenty of time to learn

wait.....i want ot get 1 ohm from TWO subs, not one...is that what you are saying and i am just misunderstanding it...or are you saying get the dual 2 ohm for ONE sub to get 1 ohm.

i want one amp for two subs basically. so i need two subes together to get one ohm if at all possible

When is the last time you saw either a SPL competitor or a SQ competitor use two different size subs?? Think there might be a reason for that??

And acutally, going with 3 15s will give you more displacement (with 2430cm^2) than 2 15s and 2 10s (2240cm^2) incase that is any better at pursuading you.

Ok, two subs to 1ohm would require either dual 4ohm voice coils or dual 1ohm voice coils

DING! we have a winner! dual 1 ohm it is....thank you very much.

and that displacement thing is a very good persuasion...

now FOUR 15's....hehehe, that would be just insane.............i like it!

anyway, enough rambling...thanks again for the help
