*Teaser* Upcoming build: 1965 Pontiac GTO

This is for my father. The GTO is his baby and I finally convinced him that he should do a decent little system in it. Should sound a hell of a lot better than what is in there now.

Equipment:

-Pioneer Head unit (model undecided)

-Beyma RF One components

-Beyma RF One coaxials

-Powerbass ASA 700.5

-10" Treo TSX

To do:

-Install head unit in glove box

-Build custom kick panels for fronts (must be as stealthy as possible)

-Rebuild rear deck, cut metal of the deck to allow sub to vent into the cabin

-Custom box firing into cabin

-Rack for amp & crossovers

Both will be mounted on the shelf under the the deck

Mind me asking why the Pioneer HU?

I have one... but the Pico Fuse thing is really frustrating.

If you do install the Pioneer, to be safe I'd reground the RCA's anyway.

What I did was strip wire, wrap it around the RCA shields, solder them, then ground them to the HU VIA a screw.

But it should be good.

I love the old GTO's!

sounds like a nice project. And I've had 3-4 pioneer units and never experienced the ground issue mentioned.

no ground issue as well. i only use pioneer decks

Ah might as well post more about the car. Its got a 421 with tri power in it. Its also some rare "Hurst" edition. The wheels on it are apparently worth a lot since not too many were made

Same here i had to ground my RCA's by running a wire right to the HU ground
