TC Sounds TC-3000 Thread

The TC definitely has a clean sound to it. It's not 100% SQ, but that's not what it was meant to be. If I was to compare it to an IDMAX, I would say the IDMAX has better transient response (punchier) but the TC3000 destroys the IDMAX as far a lows go.
Compared to an Avalanche, the TC3K gets just as low but sounds 200% cleaner. IMO the Avalanche sounds like poop, but maybe it was my enclosure/install.
You CANNOT detect transient response in the subfrequency range...and transient response refers to the SPEED of the woofer NOT its 60-80hz impact. You're likely comparing frequency responses...which is completely dependent on the install and the box.

My bad. I guess I don't know what transient response is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Anyways, if you've ever heard an IDMAX you probably know what I'm referring to. It has an incredibly quick, light sound to it while the TC3K has quite a bit "heavier" sound to it. With drum beats and such the IDMAX was awesome but when it came to 35Hz and below it was about as good as a funky pup.

The TC3K likes drum beats but they don't have the incredibly light quickness that the IDMAX seemed to have. That, IMO, is the only thing the IDMAX has on the TC3K.

Funny thought here...

Upper frequency extension is limited by inductance...

Transient response is limited by inductance...

My friend has a 3hp with a 3000 15 top assembly. He has it in a 3 cube sealed box and right now it has about 600rms going into it. It sounds good, but it is hungry for more power. He ordered a bxi2000 for it.

Oh and it hits lows pretty well.

I have a 3hp motor that is being made into a 10 shortly. I just want a really beefy 10

With more power..the lows will surely amaze you. I have about 1200 to my Uberwoofer (3hp motor) in 3.5 cubes sealed and the lows are incredible, and it sounds flawless to my ears

EDIT: After that benchtest of the 1500d..if they hold true with most Hifonics amps (bxi2006)..I could be getting less than 1000 to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yea thats what he's hoping. I just want a big a$$ 10. :)

I have my 3hp motor packaged up and stuff I just need to stop and get a money order. Then it will get done.

Im hoping to put my 10 in a 1.25-1.75 box tuned to around 30 hz. That way it peaks a bit higher. Should be good for what I want.

The 2006 BXi line are a lot less overrated compared to the 04-05 line. On a 13.8v system @ 1ohm the BXi-2006d puts out like 1700-1800wrms.

alright i have a 3.5 cf box and looking to go sealed but don't want to lose a lot of spl doing it. will there be a big difference? Im just looking for a little cleaner bass for my 15" 3000, gonna have around 1600 rms for it. or should i find an amp with more watts if i wanna go sealed with a 3000?

Actually, transient response realistically IS frequency response. What most people label as transient response (in regard to subwoofers) refers to the driver's response characteristics in the 70-100 region, where inductive rolloff causes significant response degradation in many subwoofers, due primarily to inductance.

Inductance is the chief limiter of frequency response, and thus the biggest determining factor of transient performance.

That being said, in many setups they sound inaccurate in the 70-100Hz range because they are:

A) Poorly crossed over

B) Poorly level matched

C) The sub is set at far too high of a level for the front stage, thus guaranteeing a response curve that looks like \_____ once it hits the bass region.
