TC Sounds recone on my RE Destroyer (PICS!)

This is why I free air new woofers before I build a box for them...

To makes sure everything looks ok....

Sometime you just have to get it in a box, but atleast you can see if your spiders not attached at high excursion....

Now THAT'S compliance.

That sounds like a good idea. If I was to pull it out and free air it to see what's wrong with it, what tone should I play to get full excursion but not over exert it?

Gotta love them red baskets.
\Yup, and gotta hate those gayluminum cones. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Ting...ting...ting.

heres a thought...maybe with the new top....the character of the sub is changed...i know tc sounds tryed to make the sub as close to the original as possible...from the little info they had 2 work with...maybe the sub dont need a box that big or maybe it doesjust a thought

as far as amp settings.....did u set your gains using a 50hz test tone with all bass levels on hu and amp at lowest setting?

if u didnt do that u might want to try it..i know some1 who set there gains on a 20hz test tone and he said it got loud but for what he has it should be louder....so i told him the proper way is to set it on a 50hz test tone ...once he did that he notice substantial increse in output....just a thought

That part made me laugh...

I would do a low tone to get LOTS of excursion with minimum power....

just SLOWLY increase power. Try a tone in the 20's... I havn't had new speakers in a while.... I think I usually use 28

Its getting old

Kyle- I'll be coming in tomorrow around 12 probably. I'll call before I cruise to see if you're there I guess.
Now that I think more about it, your amp may be clipping! Clipping often sounds like a speaker distortion, but its not. Make sure you are not wiring the subwoofer in parallel. because that would be a 0.5 ohm load on your amp.

You need to wire it in series. Either way bring it in.

Yeah so dual 1.4 would be .7 and that gave me a voltage of 41.8. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT that's not good. brb. I'm an idiot. ****************************************fu8ck
So it was clipping?

Run it in series man, it should haul *** now.
