TC Sounds recone on my RE Destroyer (PICS!)

yeah I noticed taht about the spider too, but it didn't seem like it was pulling off or anything when I touched it so i thought it was allright.

The impedance is different, so the number gains mean nothing beacuse you need to measure the power going into the driver. We need to test it and see how much excursion you are getting and what frequency the noise is being made at in your box.

Oh yeah you're right, because I was getting 50 volts ac for the gain calculating for 2500 watts at 1 ohm. but it's lower then 1 ohm with the dual 1.4's isnt it?

My box is 4 cubic feet tuned to 32hz. It worked well with my previous destroyer, so it seems like it should work for the new one...

When should I bring it by? The sooner the better cuz it needs to be ready by Sunday.

Yeah so dual 1.4 would be .7 and that gave me a voltage of 41.8. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT that's not good. brb. I'm an idiot. ****************************************fu8ck

true.....you may have broke it, BUT

the spider looked as if it wasnt glued well to begin with.

let TC deal with it, but i'd make sure you point that out.

you might be able to get away with one here/

heres a thought...maybe with the new top....the character of the sub is changed...i know tc sounds tryed to make the sub as close to the original as possible...from the little info they had 2 work with...maybe the sub dont need a box that big or maybe it does

just a thought

as far as amp settings.....did u set your gains using a 50hz test tone with all bass levels on hu and amp at lowest setting?

if u didnt do that u might want to try it..i know some1 who set there gains on a 20hz test tone and he said it got loud but for what he has it should be louder....so i told him the proper way is to set it on a 50hz test tone ...once he did that he notice substantial increse in output....just a thought

I don't think I broke it cuz it sounds fine a low levels, no akward noises at all. Actually it sounds amazing at low levels. very precise and responsive sound.

Anyways before I had it set at 50 volts. I set it to 41.8 after taking in the account of it being a .7 ohm load instead of a 1 ohm load. It still makes the noise at the same volume, and the output barely changed at all.

I set it with a 50hz tone recorded at 0db while the volume was at 29 out of 35. A little over 3/4 volume so it won't clip the signal as much at full volume. The sub level on my HU was at 9 out of 15 when I was setting the gain so I wouldn't have to turn the gain up so much on the amp to get the correct voltage.

I can't think of anything I did wrong here while setting the gain, I never had problems like this with the other sub. I have no idea what the hell the deal with it is.
