TC Sounds recone on my RE Destroyer (PICS!)

How could it be clipping? I thougth the 2500d is half ohm stable??? And I know my electrical is stable. I was stoked that it was a dual 1.4 since it would squeeze some more wattage from teh amp so I wasn't planning on wiring it in series. I'm sure your ear is better then mine, I'm sure you'll be able to tell what's goin on with it when I bring it by tomorrow.

Now that I think more about it, your amp may be clipping! Clipping often sounds like a speaker distortion, but its not. Make sure you are not wiring the subwoofer in parallel. because that would be a 0.5 ohm load on your amp.
You need to wire it in series. Either way bring it in.
Dude you can see that the spiders are not glued down all the way in the picture.

Aside from that what kind of deflection does the ones that are on it now have? That might be half the problem...

could it be the sub needs less power to perform at its peak...

i'm assuming the moving mass is alittle lighter...so its more efficient and on top of that..i recall kyle mentioning that he couldnt do the regular 8 layer coil so they had to put a coil with less layers ..and the sub owner was worried about the rms falling......so theres a few factors going on here....i'm sure the sub is a beast still...the owner need to get the kinks out of his setup first

**** I just woke up, little too late of a night last night. Maybe I won't be goin by TC today. I'm gonna take it out of the box though and see if there's anything wrong with that spider or if it's still hangin on.

There seems to be so many variables in this situation, it's hard to figure out exactly what's wrong. It's true that the VC had to have a couple layers unwound from it, but I didn't think power handling would drop that much. I sure hope it's not that. If that's the case, wouldn't I just be burning up the VC with too much power?

And I'm not sure if the sub is lighter or not then before. If anything this new sub is heavier. The cone is definitly heavier then the old kevlar one and the VC assembly is much taller because it got to use the new basket.

Thanks for all the suggestions and everything, I'll get it worked out eventually. I'll probably be callin u up soon too Tuan lol

Come on over anyway, it will be worth your while to solve this problem.
