TC Sounds recone on my RE Destroyer (PICS!)

The manual I found for the 2500d states: Intelli Q Control- Continuously adjusts the "Q" boost of the high pass crossover from 0 to 10 db of boost.
I have my high pass set at around 28 on the 2500d. Does that mean the Q will be boosting 0 to 10 db at 28 hz?
its just a bass boost, i wouldnt use it @ all.

just set your gains & go.

Yeah I just turned it to 0 and set the gain to 50 VAC. I don't like messing with stuff like that.

On another hand, the sub is very versatile. I turned off the low pass for a minute and you could hear the lyrics and instruments though the sub but it was still playing undistorted bass. Keep in mind it wasn't that loud so maybe it woulda distorted with more volume, but I was still impressed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just turned up Grills a tad bit and it hits ****ing hard. But I turned it back down immediatly cuz the cone's surround extended so much that it got all distorted looking at full peak. It had dimples in it and it was all creased looking. and the sub mate a sort of chattering noise in addition to the bass. So I stopped, not sure why it did that though cuz the gains are set perfectly, not a tad bit over, and I only turned it up to 28 out of 35. And the iPods not turned all the way up either. With the old Destroyer I could turn it up to 35 out of 35 and it would sound find, no popping or weird noises. I always kept it to 32 at most, but still I could turn the old one all the way up with no problems unlike this one.

What exactly do both of those mean? I got a pretty good idea of what bottoming out is, but what's it mean if it's non linear?

How much was it moving..

that shouldnt matter as it is a single sub...it being out of phanse isnt going to have that much of an effect on anything

non linear = rubbing after a certain distance which sounds like clanking.

It moved a lot. Pretty high off the top of the box, but nothing out of the normal for a high excursion sub I don't think...

I just found out one of the plugs on my sub's RCA cable is bad. Whenever there was no music on the sub would sit and make a low and quiet tone. Not loud at all, but just enough to hear. It wasn't engine noise because it didn't fluctuate when I pressed on the gas. If I unplugged the bad rca and left the good one in the noise would stop, but if I left the bad one in and took the good one out the noise would keep going. So I gotta replace my RCA. Could that affect the sub at higher outputs at all by putting more stress on it with that exra frequency running in the backround?

Also the sub would make a faint whining noise, almost like a disposable camera's flash charging where it would gradually get higher and higher pitched when there was no music on. If I put my ear up to the cone I could distinctly hear it so I dunno what the hell that is at all.
