TC SOunds HAS LOS T THERE MINDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you refering to the IS-101 HT sub and at $900 is by no means high priced in the high-end home market. Which it appears is their market for it. The high-end home guys will drop $900 on it. These are the same people with the cash flow to buy things like Martin Logins ect. So for those guys spending atleast $2500 each and up for mains $900 is a drop in the bucket. That TC OEM will probably kick the hell out of 90% of the home sub/HT stuff on the market.IMO There is a market for everything.
$849 plus $55 for shipping is way too much for that sub!

Remember, it is PASSIVE, you are only getting a 10" sub in a small box and you still need to power it. Yes the box is made of "Bamboo" which sounds expensive I suppose, but even if that was worth $250 you are still paying $600 for a 10" sub!

If it included a 1000 watt amp then it would be reasonable, but as a passive sub it is way overpriced.

TC isnt know in the "high-end" home theater market and who would pay that much for something where they could get twice the output for less money.

The biggest problem as mentioned before, is that this community KNOWS what cost is on these drivers. It suddenly becomes VERY hard to purchase something that you KNOW has 300% markup.

The only concern I have for TC is how they plan to compete with Chinese manufacturing..... or if they have plans to start offshore operations. Once the R&D has been done, it doesn't take a genius to operate a machine to magnetize ceramic cores and glue them to a machined pole/backplate. (Glue that will hold for more than a few months too).

We all thought DD was pricy..... and TC just blew them out of the water.

Didn't SVS drop them several months ago? Maybe there's a score to settle. I'm sure they're jealous of their rags-to-riches business.

Bamboo is related to Grass and grows something like 15 feet a year.... it's not expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Apparently mike is the new man in charge of all of this, i had a run in with him last week.

people still paid $900 for the eclipse ti pro's why wouldn't they pay $900 for the tc sounds version. people will pay anything. especially after they see the performance. we have to realize that while most of us have a little more experience and knowledge than the average consumer, we are only a small percent of the market. the average consumer is huge. and they will pay.

plus they were undercutting the people they made the subs for, like eclipse. could be the possiblity of getting dropped by several oem accounts and which i would think would make them bankrupt. to me it seems like a logical choice, lose a little business or lose w huge amount of your income.

Bamboo may be dense and look cool, but I would not want knots in my enclosure...

seems to me that a 44# 11" cube with a 28mm+ xmax sub running off 2000 watts would dance all over the place unless you screwed or strapped it to something, which would be less than ideal in a home theater. as i recall the little 10" sunfire cubes back in the early 2000's had that problem

i really like the size and the way it looks if it were only about $350 less expensive

anyone have a picture of the other home theater sub they had for sale a few months ago before all this restructuring stuff started? it had a grey rhino skin kinda finish. i am going to do something like that in my car and would love a picture for reference

TC 10" OEM sub...$150

Dayton 1000 watt amp...$330

Wood/Supplies and Time...$100

Total: $580

Getting the same sub powered by a 1000 watt amp for $325 less...PRICELESS

well stupid rich people will overpay for the "best product available", and to most shops, the "best product" is the one that costs the most.

i can see people with too much money doing this, but to the average person who doesnt know the brand name, they wont buy it.
