taurus install HELP!

I just installed my Sony CDX-GT710 into my '01 taurus, and i had the scosche dash kit for it, which was a pain in the a$$ might i add. my question for anyone who has seen/done this installation is, there is an orange wire that youre supposed to tap into the ashtray light connection for the lights on the rotary climate controls. but the wire that youre supposed to use isnt long enough to reach down to it. i know i know, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/needpics.gif.edd6d28e76618c28c46f343991bcced5.gif but my camera is on the fritz right now, ill try to get some pictures as soon as i can

you dont post pics, i will... lol

the orange wire is for the dimmer.... there is already a wire for it that went to the stock radio. search for the radio wiring diagram for whatever year ur taurus is and there will be a dimmer wire that you can connect the orange tooooooo

Seth, i wish it was a piece of cake for me , the left side braket was broken on the radio, so the new dash kit doesnt stay in place:*******: so i gotta do something with that, dont know what yet. im not even going to bother for right now because i still need to hook up my amp and what not
