I've been thinking about building something like this to use for near field listening. It's a full-range bookshelf sized transmission line probably using a HiVi B3N. The price seems low enough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif This particular design is step tapered and the it is one quarter of an 80hz wavelength pre stuffing. Comments or suggestions?

Let me know what you think.

I agree with joe. Bookshelf and full range just don't go together.
That doesn't happen a lot... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Anyway, to be 100% honest it sounds like a very neat project idea. If you pulled it off well it would probably sound rather nice. I just don't get a rise out of full range.

But, what ever fits your fancy. Transmission lines are something that have always interested me however. Why not run a bigger mid and mount a tweeter in that bad boy? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But, I guess that would kind of void the whole goal of the project.

Haha, I agree about the full range. Kind of lame isn't it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But it wouldn't be hard at all to stick a tweeter in there, it's definitely something I've considered. I think I'll try it out full range and add a Dayton or Aura pressfit on a 1st order if the off axis response leaves anything to be desired.
