12 spokes are limited to mid 30's mm of excursion, which is more than most motors are capable of anyway.
Don't you mean the Fi owned basket? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifWell I'm talking about spaced spiders which offer more cone and coil control and many more spider options like the original tc sound basket(t3 now).. And they have a ton of woofers that offer 3+ inches of throw mow n days..
3" of throw is approx mid 30's mm of xmax, and there aren't really a 'ton' of motors that are capable of this. If you are talking xmech, there are a decent amount of them out there, but for most applications xmech isn't an important factor. I dont recommend listening to a sub that is being pushed beyond its xmax potential, as that means it is no longer linear and will sound like ass. If you are building a sub with a motor capable of more than mid 30's, yes look into the TC style basket that Fi does indeed currently own the rights to. For most applications, a 12 spoke will allow plenty of excursion.Well I'm talking about spaced spiders which offer more cone and coil control and many more spider options like the original tc sound basket(t3 now).. I can't remember who owns what..
Btw demin how's the zcons?
No parameters yet?
I like those kind. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Didn't eD attempt an underhung model with a top plate that appeared to be 8" tall?Unless you use underhung or Xbl both designs can easily surpass 30mm Xmax and proform as god as spl drivers..
Ben Milne has never had an original thought in his head. Look at the company he owns now. They did. Some manufacturers rely on aesthetics and common knowledge, which I find to often be flawed. eD is a me-too company, I wouldn't look to them for any thinking outside of the box.
