System Shuts Off at Random

So I finally finish installing a system in my cousins 98 mustang (Alpine 9887, some beefed up Kaption 2 channel that does 1000 rms bridged at 2 ohm that I can't think of the name, and two 12" Alpine Type R's). When I was tuning it for him I had the car and the stereo running for probably a half hour straight and had no problem at all. Now he's telling me that the stereo will randomly shut off from the head unit to everything else, and when it comes back on all the settings that I stored on the head unit are reset as if the battery was disconnected. Anytime I try to diagnose the problem it never happens for me, but he's telling me its still happening. Any ideas?

Take the headunit out and check your wire connections.

^try that, also maybe the connections on the battery terminals

loose wire that maybe won't cause an open circuit until he hits a bump or something while driving.... do what they said
