Alpine 7878 - best alpine ever. IMO
amps
solid amps never even get warm, due to the massive heat sink housing
mbq 4200 100x4 @4
mbq 2400 800x1 @4
Mids
ID OEM's (90 shipped from Hessdawg!!)
First impressions: they lack mid bass(not too bad being compared to my sdx7 and jbl gti's ) in my fully deadened cab+doors, not completely sealed. they extend up high and blend nicely.
after a few weeks of listening and break in period they become more "alive/dynamic" more detail and mid bass. similar but not near to my gti's
overall vs; AA poly mids had more mid bass with a more distinct "smoother?" sound after the tensil lead slap was fixed and EQ; which i liked better. sounds similar but not near again to the SDX7(extremis)
tweeter
Vifa xt25's .. what can i say they do everything. plenty of reviews
sub TC OEM 10
i first had this sub D4 in .4 sealed. re12.1 @2 ~800 watts. sounded amazing ftw
surround came unglued and eventually fixed but the honeycomb cone frayed.\
Warranty: had to call eventually to get any response. but replaced it with
the oem 10 s4 aluminum cone that was used in their IS-101
S4 now so i ditched the re12.1 and went with an US Amps MD22 ~700+@4
same box .4 sealed. same results..
but i sought more bass so i went with .8 @32hz 4" port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
bass is now more than enough and i like it. still sound wonderful
changed the us amps to another mbq for matching amps.
MBQ is not as clean at the usamps but more power and also rated at more.(i smell new glue burning due to more power; but of course goes away like it should)
only problem again is the surround has come unglued again!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif
fl heat should not be a problem but i can see the glue just absolutely sucks!
i used Amazing Goop worked fine and has been fine.
wtf; happens to another spot; so i just reglued the entire surround to the al cone.
now i have been wanging for a while now with no problems. sub is power hungry, needs more! 800 is enough but could use 1200
TC sounds FTL. love the driver but could have been better.
