System randomly started blowing fuses as soon as I put them in

Previously I was running a pg ti600.2 to a single 4ohm dvc type r. running at bridged at 2 ohms worked but i generated a lot of heat and fuses kept blowing, couple times a month. that amp is technically 'stable' at 2ohms but is not supposed to be run bridged 2 ohms for a long time.

I then bought the type r 2ohm dvc and had it connected at 4ohms bridged. perfect. the amp never heated up, fuses were never blown. I had it running like this for a month. I've played it at near max volumes with gain plenty up. No problems whatsoever. Now today the amp just shutoff while music was being played. (very low btw and not even anything bass heavy). I checked and saw that the fuse was blown (80A). I just put in another one. Started up the system.. amp never turned on. I check the fuse and its blown.

huh ????

You blew the amp because you misused it. Next time, use the proper impedence and set the gain properly.

Gain.. 65-70%ish. set with a dmm. felt like I could go higher.
bass boost = 0. 4 gauge wires used.
Lol! Lying to us won't bring your amp back from the dead. You're in denial. Unless your head unit is just JUNK, your gain will not be at 65-70% if you set it with a DMM. Also, if you set it with a dmm, you would not say "felt like I could go higher".

my 2v preouts on my deck mean my amp's gain needs to go a bit higher than say if i even used a 4v or 6v... so watch what you say. I should be blowing up every amp I touch with your logic, I just happen to know a bit more maybe than the OP....... sometimes shht just happens, hope its either not blown or you have a warranty to fix it.

not 65-70%.. more like tad less that 3/4. I'm not bullshitting though... at one point I had it higher and the bass boost up a bit too. But after the sub swap I set gain properly once and put bass boost all the way down. That was it

yeah... amp is dead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

showed some guy at a shop and he said the power supply was gone on the amp and that cant get parts to fix it.

is there a way to fix it or should i just buy another amp
