system questions for audio experts!

So I bought 2 t3 t2000 subs. 4000 max 2000rms at 2 ohms each with dual voice coils. And I also bought a zero gauge power and ground wire. And a audiobahn A18001DJ 2500 watts rms at 1 ohm. I got a great deal on the t3 t2000. So I can use one as a back up if the other blows. Or if it possible to run both. They are going into a 08 mustang gt with stock alternator and battery. Now questions are probably a regular for you guys but. 1) is the amp to big for 1 sub. 2) if I run just one sub will I need an alt. Upgrade and will it if I run both. 3) do I need an extra battery for one or both. 4) what size box do I need to make for one sub or both. 5) do I need a cap at all or just another battery. 6) the amp can do 1300 watt rms at 2 ohms is the safe for 2 2000 watt rms subs. What would you guys do? Also the car does have alot of gauges and stuff too btw. Sorry for all the questions im completely new to the audio world. And before I forget the car does come with a shaker 500 which is a 500 watt stock stereo. Thank in advance guys.

I can only help you a little bit ok.

1) what size fuses are on that amplifier and how many of them? That will tell you the true RMS of that amplifier.

2) Yes. You can run both. There has never been a speaker in the history of audio that has broken because of low power. I personally would run both. More cone area, more output. But it depends on how much trunk space you want to lose.

3) Are these subs 10s, 12s, 15s???

4) I would upgrade the alternator. Some guys will tell you to just stick a bigger battery in back. That part is up to you. But if you got a large enough alternator. You won't have to add a 2nd battery which will save you trunk space and weight.

Alternator companies. I recommend Iraggi, mechman, singer, excessive amperage, ohio generator, dc power, and there are more.

5) No the amplifier is not to big for one sub.

6) You can run a capacitor if you would like but it won't be necessary. It just helps stiffen your voltage if you have the electrical to back it up.

7) what kind of box do you want? sealed, ported, passive radiator?

8) I definitely would upgrade that alternator. Newer cars always take more of your stock alternators amperage just to run themselves.

1- No. That amp will not do 2,500w.

2- No. And No. See answer #1

3- No.

4- What size are they?

5- Say no to caps.

6- Yes. But that amp won't do that.

You got yourself some serious subs there. My advice is to get a decent amp and run one of them. Get a small backup battery and you're good for maybe 2-3k depending, but get a dash mounted voltmeter to add to the gauge collection.
