System Not Working!!! Help

Ok so I installed an Alpine system in my car back in June and it has been running great.

It consists of:

Alpine Head Unit CDA - 9886

Alpine Amp PDX - 5

Alpine 10" Type R Sub, 2 6" Type R's, 2 6"x9" Type R's

Like I said it has been running great and is usually turned up around 18-20. For the past week when I turn it up above 14-16 it just cuts out. The power stays on and it does not pause. The only way for me to get it to play again is to reboot it.

What do you think is causing this?

check all wires and make sure there is no short, has your electrical in your car been acting weird as of late. Example lights dimming

No the rest of the electrical has been fine no lights dimming or anything. I checked all the wires unplugged everything from the amp and reconnected it, with the same problem. Ill def check the ground tho I never looked at that. Why would it only shut of above a certain volume tho? Do you think one of the fuses could be shot or something along those lines?

i have seen this happen befor it could be a amp issue. I would start with the ground, did u have it put in from a shop or did u do it?

It was a team effort. A guy I know that works at an audio shop helped me install it. he has been working on systems for 8 years. Should I move the ground to a new area?

not so much move it check it out and u can try that see if there is another spot u can go to. u say cut outs if u turn it up it will turn off all together?

Alright I'll Check that out. The system doesnt turn off. It will be playing fine no cracks everything good. Than once I get to about 15 it just stops playing. It doesnt pause because when I press play again nothing happens and skipping to another track does nothing. The only way for it to play again is if I turn it off than turn it back on. When I turn down the Sub, Bass and Treble it can play up to about 18 Than cuts again, and that with the Sub at 10 instead of 15 and bass and treble at 0. Max on the sub, bass and treble is 15, 7 and 7

Okay so I checked out the ground and thats not it. I sanded it off there was some rust on it and still didnt work. So i moved it and still nothing. Still the same problem.

if you have something to use instead of your radio try that that way you'll know if it's the radio or the amp

it could be your deck or amp bro.

could it be possible that one of the two fuses blew so its only getting half the power through the amp. I dont know much about systems

does it do it while ur listening to the radio also? or just cd?

Replace blown fuses.
