System in room?

Since my car died and I have a suspended licence for driving friends around, I've decided I am going to try to take my system out of my car and put it in my room. Is this possible? So far I have everything hooked up but I cant test it yet because I am charging my battery. What am I suppose to do for the wire that goes from the deck to the ignition switch?

Get a 12VDC power supply...run the remote and +12V lead together, after that it's the same.

A 12VDC power supply is a power source that you can plug into your 120V AC house outlets, and it will give you 12VDC output to connect to gear that runs off of 12V DC (like your car audio equipment). Since it plugs into your house outlet, you can pretty much use it endlessly (as long as you don't overheat it), unlike the car battery you plan on using (since the car battery will drain rather quickly, giving you rather limited play time). However, for anything with decent amperage output, they can be pretty expensive (hundreds of dollars)

But, to answer your question, you'd wire both the ACC ("ignition wire") and 12V+ leads to the battery's positive.

Hey thanks everyone for the info. I ended up using just a car battery with a charger sittin right next to it. It hits pretty hard! I will look into the 12vdc for sure though. This was the first system ive installed, so I learned a lot. Before I didn't even know what a ground was or how to hook up subs parallel. Once I get my licence back, now instead of taking my system to best buy or circuit city, ill just take some time and hook it up myself. Only 82 more days till I get my licence back...
