System for my friend

My friend is looking to buy a system for his 1995 audi a6. Im not exaclty sure of his price range for his subs/amp, but its around 700-1000.

he was looking at the 12" mtx 9500 with the mtx 1501D amp.

I know most of you would recomend adire, or resonant audio. i respect your opinions, but they are pretty rare around here (mass) and there are no stores that sell them for him to listen to.

i think what derek means is that the kid wants to hear them first, which isnt a bad thing. Personally I like the 9500's SPL, but no so much the SQ. It didn't sound right to me (even though I was rockin a 'bahn).

what kind of equipment do retail places sell up there? JL? MTX? Rockford?

I get most of the stuff around here, just no adire and no REaudio.

he really liked the w7, but its really expensive.

he has it narrowed down to the w7, but he would sacrifice other parts on his car, a w6, and a mtx 9500.
