One of my buddies friends just got a complete audiopipe system installed from a guy locally that is a audiopipe dealer. Its two 15s and a 4000 watt audiopipe amp, which I believe audiopipe rates their amps by max power so 2000 RMS. Then he also got amp for mids and highs then new door speakers and of course wiring....i also believe he has a capacitor lol. Anyways I'm not sure how much he paid for it I heard $2500 and I also heard $3800.

Anyways the guy thought it was really loud and he wanted to hear mine. After he heard mine he decided he wanted to go back to the audiopipe guy and get his money back because he has a thing where if you are not satisfied you get your money back. Then he wants me to install him a system. I am personally a kicker guy but like other brands also but kicker is my favorite....as you can tell by my signature.

I haven't really talked to the guy much about what he wants to do so I have just been pondering a few ideas in my head and figuring up the cost. Now I figure he will want the box to go in the back behind the front seats. Not really a wall to the ceiling, just where it looks like it goes into the trunk but it really doesnt. You prolly know what I'm sayin. So the box won't be able to be too awful big.

Here are the ideas I've got so far....these are just main items that will need to be purchased of course. This as you can see does not contain box price and labor. What is a good fair price to charge for labor btw? I was thinkin $35 or $40 an hour.

Two 12" L7s - $346

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1207

Two 15" CVX - $400

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1261

Two 15" L7s - $450

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1311

Three 12" CVX - $465

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1326

One Solo X 12 - $510

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1371

Four 10" CVX - $560

KX2500 - $505

Kicker 0 Guage Wiring Kit - $81

Kinetik 2400 Battery - $275

$1421

Which of these do you guys think would be the best setup? The reason I put both 12" L7s and 15" L7s is bc of the amount of room for box. I know they like alot of room and I'm thinkin the 12" L7s might perform better than the 15" L7s due to the small box.

I doubt he will be attending many competitions, he might though I dont know. I think he is just mainly wanting a LOUD setup for daily.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

4 tens sounds pretty cool. I hear the CVX wangs too.

the 3 cvx 12s and 2 l7 15s would probably be pretty close in output so out of those i guess whatever is cheaper or easier to do works best.

how much more would a single solo x 15 be instead of the 12? if you had a single x 15 option there for not much more than the 12 id go with that.

They dont make a 15" solo x. Only 10, 12, and 18.

One thing I'm worried about if he went with the four 10s route is the sound of them. I haven't heard many 10s that I really like the sound of. They are more punchy bass instead of that nice bass that you get more out of 12s and 15s. It might have just been the setups I heard with 10s were bad.

I wasn't aware that they didn't make a 15 X. Hmm, they should. As for tens being punchy. I haven't played with a lot of tens but I'm certain it was the install. A ten playing 35 Hz should sound the same as a 15 playing 35 Hz. With the difference being output obviosly. This varies with the enclosure size and tuning but I see no reason why, with the cone area from 4 tens, that you wouldn't end up with the smooth bass that you are looking for. If going sealed then go a little large on the enclosure to get a boomier sound. A smaller one will give you a punchier quality. I'm sure you already know this though.

It will be a ported box. I dont really think he wants to put it in his trunk. I dont know this for sure but judging by the way his current system is he is wanting to keep his trunk open and pretty much have a wall but still be able to see out the backglass. If you know what I mean. Its not just like a box sittin behind the backseat. Its clean as hell.

He wants the new one to be louder than his current one. He doesn't understand why his isn't louder than mine lol. Like I said he currrently has two audiopipe 15s and he said a 4000 watt amp which is also audiopipe so im sure it was actually just 2000 RMS. Its in a ported box with one round port in the middle. I could tell it was tuned waaaaaay too high. That is why its not as loud as it actually could be I figure. Because of course he is listenin to music and I would guess his loudest notes are around 60 hz....so the lower notes that are in regular songs instead of bass testers are not very loud due to the high tuning of the box.

why not 3 15" CVXs? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I'm worried about space issues. Also on three subs I can't think of a good idea on how to do the port without makin it look weird. I also think two 15" cvxs would be louder than three 15" cvxs on 2500 watts. It would be underpowering the subs if there was three 15" cvxs...or L7s for that matter.
