Supplements?

Well here's my problem, which is crazy considering I can't be the only one in the world with a busy schedule.
I wake up at 6:30... I rush to get ready for school, I'm out the door by 7. I don't eat breakfast because I don't have 5+ minutes to cook+ eating time, etc

At school, I have a set lunch time, some days 11AM, some 12PM... 30 minutes to eat, no access to fridge/microwave
I'm positive you can make a smoothie or a bowl of oatmeal in less then five minutes. Breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day because it gets your metabolism up and going for the day.

And what about supplements? I'm not looking for miracle pills, I'm going to work hard alongside them... I just want to do everything I can
The only supplement you need to be worried about right now is using a whey protein powder

Whey is only really helpful pre/post workout when you want a fast-digesting protein.

Make sure you get something that is slow in digestion at night. Most people recommend cottage cheese, or natural peanut butter.

I've been working out now for two years plus, and what I've found from several books and online research that it all comes down to: creatine, glutamine, protein, flaxseed oil, a daily multivitamin, plenty of rest, and adding weight to the bar.

toss that out the door, eat most of your calories through real food not pills and drinks, dedication is the only thing your gonna need alot of to lose weight. also fat doesnt turn into muscle or vice versa

Protein drinks are great when you need something quick. I'd never recommend taking them anytime other then pre/post workout- but you're right- get everything you can through eating the right foods.

yea i forgot to add that, whey is the only supp i buy anyway when i dont have time for a cooked meal

Kenny, you are young. I saw you at the Clearwater meet a few monthes ago. Most of your fat is baby fat. It will dissapear in due time. Don't worry about it.
I eat too much... it's food fat, lol
Here's a list my best friend and I are buying to split.. it's things we read and saw will compliment our daily workouts well... please correct me if I'm wrong

Higher Power L-Glutamine, 1000 grams (glutamine)

BSN NO-Xplode, 1.81 Lbs., Fruit Punch (creatine + nitric oxide)

CytoSport Muscle Milk, 2.48 Lbs, Chocolate Milk (to take right before bed)

Twinlab Daily One Caps, 60 Capsules (daily multi-vitamin)

Optimum 100% Whey Protein, 2 Lbs., Gold Standard Tropical Punch (to mix with Gatorade/water to make sure we get enough protein per day)

Health From The Sea PFO Pure Fish Oil, 8 Fl. Oz. (my buddy said he's heard good things about it, it's $10... figured we should pick it up)

We have about $150 to spend... and I'm set on going with supplements in addition to working out. Anything wrong with the above before purchasing?

get bold /thread

From everything I've heard glutamine isn't going to do much at all.
You're getting way too much crap. When are you going to take all of this?

Nothing there can replace a good meal.
I used to take glutamine in a post workout shake... I stopped getting sore. I did a Wikipedia search on it, said it's used for that reason... to prevent down time pretty much
I would take it whenever I eat, I'd still be eating good (changing my diet when I start all this)
