Why don't you just get an SRT-4. In your price range and can make big power and be fast very easily. Cobalt SS would be another choice. The VWs are nice and easy to mod too, but parts are expensive.

idk.. i have 155hp on my 2001 altima and i got it to 135 and it had a little left.. thats with whats in my trunk and all.. ghandy bridge a 3am with no one else equals free dyno lol

Weight doesn't have much to do with top speed.

Well show me that timeslip. No n/a focus is close to 13 seconds. Chances are you dont have a clue how fast it is, but no matter its still a Ford Focus

That could be said about any car out there that looks like a regular ole car.

My focus ST wouldn't beat yours, but I am in the 13's with mine with about 1700 in mods and what not. Would like to turbo mine, but don't have the funds anymore to dump money into it. Big difference from 16.1 to 13.4 with not much into it, without a turbo.

Also most people know how fast the GTP's are or can be. My focus, people have no clue as it looks like a grocery getter, but it is a sleeper for sure. I can keep up with my buddy's Mustang and he has a tune and some money in his, granted he can't drive it for shit!

There are plenty of weekends I go to the strip with my buddies to shoot the shit and run the cars.

I have done both, race cars with my dad and DD's. As long as your are not racing everybody in their mother on the streets, then I see no problem with dumping money into your car.

Didn't you have a lighting? So I take it you never raced that on the streets huh? Or dumped money into it.

Like I said, anything can be made fast with money. Also there is always something faster out there, no matter what. I love my GTP and with only about 2 grand and a few years I have got her almost into the 12's, and with a cam and about 500 total more, she will be mid to low 12's and I am fine with that.

If I wanted a 11 second car, I would steal my dads 67 Nova.

I have respect for any car lover, no matter what it is.
