The point is that any "review" without some hard objective data from RTA, SPL meter, or clamp/dyno is absolutely worthless. Human senses are not an accurate measuring device for sound, particularly outside of 2000-5000hz range that our ears are build to be most sensitive and our memory for sound is very poor.I will not be using an rta and could care less about you calling me out.
And for all we know you are too. This is why anybody who wants useful data will ask for some RTA or SPL meter results. Precision measuring equipment is very objectiveI honestly believe some sq judges are deaf.
On something that large I just can't see much need for half bridge. Running .7 DCR load on my Korean half bridge 9K vs the same load on SFB 8K is about 1.3dB down. Now if for whatever reason I wanted to jump up to 18V electrical system and wire impedance down to .19 ohm the Zenon built amp would pull way ahead and the SFB would protect or blow up long before either extreme. The full bridge is 1/3 of the size and weight and MSRP is just about half the cost of the Korean one's cost from the factory not including shipping from Korea. So, if people had the money and room, would they buy a 10K full bridge or half bridge?
Looks like my point when right over your head. The rta is a waste of my time because no one cares. People are still going to say "I don't care if the rta says this sub is 20 times better, I'm still getting the other sub". I will trust my human hear over the garbage technology that you love so much. The rta stuff has already been done on camera, and it hasn't changed anything. I have had setups with mics that autotune the sound for you in a car and house, and at the end of the day I still changed it because I didn't like the way it sounded. I have been building boxes for years and there is no special equation to make a L7 box. Everyone loved the way my L7s sounded, but none them heard my previous setups. Their opinions never held weight because they were happy with their factory systems. I don't understand why you so in love with a company that isn't paying you. I like Kicker, I just don't like the squares. If you and anyone else on here likes to call me deaf, then I love it. I've been singing since a kid, and til current day no one has told me to shut up yet. Call Kicker yourself and ask them their opinion of the cwq vs L7 qclass sound quality. The point is that any "review" without some hard objective data from RTA, SPL meter, or clamp/dyno is absolutely worthless. Sorry to hear you couldn't manage to put your Kicker subs in a proper box but there's nothing wrong with them for what they are and despite what some bloke at Kicker told you there is nothing about a square cone that makes it sound different than a round one.

Agreed. Power (especially aftermarket alternators) are really the biggest contributor when it comes to mid-tier or higher amps.If you're serious about having a killer soundsystem, great lows and extreme output the amps are important surely but bulletproof electrical should always be the 1st step.
I like wiring low Korean style vs a big full-bridge to beat rise but its personal preference.
Thank you sir for your real world input.I ran a sundown saz3000d for several years. I replaced it with a Taramps smart3. Their is 0 difference in the sound.
You're well on your way to taking Richard Clark's 10 grand I'm sure. The rta is a waste of my time because no one cares.
You got the quote and username mixed up (Coolhand20th). I agree though, he is on his way (lol)You're well on your way to taking Richard Clark's 10 grand I'm sure.
