Sundown SA - Same league as Fi / Incriminator / AA?

Just to clarify a couple things on the SA series they are now rated at 750 RMS and Jacob Fuller has burped 7k through one before. I know it sounds crazy but he had a video for a while.

A burp... That's nothing to go by... You can burp stupid power on any sub and it should survive a few times

I've never had any probs with any sundown subs, but **** happens. Now if I was looking at ~600W subs I would seriously considerFiDay 12 | Fi Car Audio I woud take that over an SA if I was looking for new subs.

Should t have bought from Sean. BS^ sundown hands down has best customer service and hands down best QC in the business. Why do you think hey have tons of yardsale woofer that people can't find anything wrong with beside tony extra dab of glue or smudge on basket

I can contest to this. 210 bucks shipped to my door for a x15. What's wrong with it? Way too much glue around the dia of the spider. Once the sub is mounted, it won't be seen anyway. Sure beats the brand new retail price of 500-700 I see online.

Big diff between burping a sub, which so happens to be the same as peak power and continuous rms, which is same as daily listening. Make sure you know what your talking about before you reply.

You must be referring to the sa18 he had 2 amps going to it.

i don't know how sundown tested it but a 8 hour continuous sinwave is more than adequate testing.

the 3" coil will have lower power compression. now when the 2.5 coil hits power compression can vary greatly. if your using less than 1k id probably use the 2.5" coil granted it is more efficient than the 3" coil woofer..

Local dealer quoted me $175 for the american bass XFL which is a better buy (same sound quality, 3 inch coil, bigger motor).
The 1200RMS american bass XR (same motor as the XFL, upgraded soft parts) which is basically a SQ version of XFL is still like 25-30 bucks cheaper than the Sundown SA (I was quoted 190 for it, if I risked it and went unauthorized dealer I could get it as low as $165)

SA is a good sub but I don't really like the price (Currently the SSA GCON is selling about 30 bucks higher than the sundown SA and the GCON is fully assembled in the US, the motor is machined in house, and it uses an american made voice coil).

Don't get me wrong, Sundown is good but your paying a decent amount for the name

american bass needs to change there name to Chinese stuff than i'm gonna sell to you as an american with an american name..

while some Chinese build houses are decent most of them are huge companies with underpaid employees that don't give a **** about building speakers and need there job.

to say american bass is junk is not accurate. to say its a great sounding woofer is not accurate. one thing it is is a decent woofer for a low price..

supply and demand does exist BTW. is the sundown on the pricey side? its not that your paying for just the woofer. your paying for the R and D and the demand for the woofers as well as the customer service.. id rather charge 10 bucks more per driver to beable to recone drivers that are faulty and keep my customers happy then charge next to nothing and hope to make money on recones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
