the SA 12 does work in a sealed box, its just a waste to have it in a sealed box because the ouput potential with ported is a lot greater. Dont get me wrong, it still bangs and sounds decent in a sealed box but ported is a whole different level of output. If you really want to go sealed, just build the box a little bit bigger then recommended if your not going to run over 1k rms to it.
