Ok so sundowns can take 22V? Can they drop to .125 ohm? Are they more stable at .25(some even run them daily this low)? I didnt think so. Dont get me wrong, sundown makes some great amps but they are not as bullet proof as the IA ones.
Sundown is great, good CS, more eff. than the 40.1, but its not as bulletproof. Its too talked up. But on CA.com nothing could beat a sundown. They are simply the best. You could put a sundown 3500D up against a Cactus 7k and people would say the sundown is better:rolleyes:. And yes i have 2 sundown amps and i love them. I have owned amps from both companies.
Like Jake pointed out, other than the 22V, everything you listed there has been done on Sundown amps as well.

lol 22v WOOT 18 wheeler batteries HOLLA!

I have owned 2 pair of each amps... I love em both...

but at this point the true comparison will be the NEW 40.1 to the 3500d.

the old 40.1 obviously isnt nearly as efficient as recent amps that have come out.

OK, what about this. How many blown IA amps have you seen blown compared to sundown?

I guess its a losing battle. Too many people have been brainwashed. Lol. Both are great amps. And im sure you wont run at 22V or at .125 so either or is great. I would still go with a 40.1.

I don't see a whole lot of IA amps around here so I couldn't tell you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I do see alot of ours and I know the % of damaged amps vs. how many sold is quite low - even counting obviously abused products.

I notice some people get the idea that we have "alot of blown amps" from the refurbished program with dB-R. Let me put it another way - we send out new amps in 99% of cases rather than repair the amp for the customer so they get it back faster. So any amp damaged for any reason becomes a refurbished amp.

You do have a valid arguement. There are a lot more sundown products on here than IA. But you are right, your CS is awesome. And a lot of times the blown amp is user error and not the companies fault. As i said multiple times. Both companies are great.

Also, I am not saying IA is bad, I was just pointing out that the Sundown amps are just as bullet proof as the IAs, but you can't go wrong either way.

I run my Sundown amps @ 0.25ohm A LOT and yes I've wired them as low as 0.125 just to see if they could do it. GaryF saw like a 2.5db gain from his sas-1500s on 12v wiring them down to 0.125ohms each from 0.5ohm each. I do not like running daily that low cause there just isn't any need to. Efficiency goes to shit, current draw goes through the roof, and any quality in sound turns to poop.

Under no circumstances should a consumer need to wire an amp that low daily EVER! Unless this guy is going for an spl burp setup, talk of which amp will play longer at lower impedances is totally irrelevant. Amplifier efficiency and reactive power output are way more important.

i have done stupid stuff with sundown amps... but not as dumb as derrick...voltage drop to 10.8v at .5 ohms strapped made my ears tickle...

Sb3 build... lol
I try. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have to ask..... I notice you have input on a lot of high power amps and setups...

Do you really have PERSONAL experience with this equipment or just what your buddies using other equipment say? And please provide proof......

The reason I ask is because I see A LOT of input on this thread from A LOT of people... who personally have NOT A CLUE what they are talking about, rather there just talking about what THEY heard.

I think your full of it and you try to talk like the big boys

Also, we're talking a bout a amp that's been out for years versus a newly released one.

I'm speaking from experience when I say the new 20.1 feels stronger and even more bulletproof than the old one.

With that being said, I'll still be purchasing a saz2000d within the next few days, for my gf's car. ( And maybe some comparison tests //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif )
