Overbuilt...... I need sundownz to come in here and answer this one. I talked personally with a rep ordering amps from zenon... and the sundown 3000D is not overbuilt or upgraded. It is a off the shelf 3000 watt zenon amp.
If this is true, then they are not overbuilt... but I have actually wanted this to be answered cause I was kind of skeptical.
At least according to him he upgraded the FETs in the PSU and output stages I believe as well as teh transformers but I am not sure.

ill solve this problem....just go with an rd d9.
40.1 does more power then a saz3000.

both strong amps. both can wire low. both are old *** amps. boards have been around for quite a while. so really lets talk amps not company names on the amps.

40.1>saz3000.
O LAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

here comes the RD9... i am playing with some right now with my team mates... fun little amps... DEFINTILY WAY WAY WAY more efficient than 40.1's... already did a side by side test with them.

D9 will also empty your pockets. lol

I've heard a lot of horror stories about dealing with RD, not about their actual product but dealing with the company.

the amp im more interested in is the saz4500. and how it would stack up against newer amps

honestly though, until someone does a head to head test we will all be here with our thumbs in our butt debating this. LOL

well i didnt clamp the amps... but i can say a pair of d9s is good for another .5-1 db over a pair of 40.1's... and they dont go into protect as easy. lol

Im curious too. Idk if ill have the cash handy to buy one tho.

also you are comparing a new amp with an old one, wait for the new 40.1 to come out then stack it up against the 3500, or wait for the 4500.

either way both amps are solid, it comes down to user preference. both solid companies, great owners!
