Power output is very close between the two. Depends on what load you need as to which is better suited. As in... one 3000D for a 1 ohm load or two 1500Ds for a two ohm load (warrantied loads).

It's tough to drop in compare vs. a pair of 1500Ds as if each 1500D was seeing 1/2 ohm (1 ohm strapped) then the single 3000D would be seeing 1 ohm -- which, at solid voltage, would give the edge to the 1500D pair.
