Suggestions: dim

Hey guys,

Well, as you see in my sig, I upgraded my equpiment. So I ran 0/gauge and beefed up the battery ground with two 4/gauges. and alternator charge cable with two 4/gauges.

I been looking for a high output alternator but they are to exspensive. I got prices from $479 - $800.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to fix this issue before the OCT 17th show.

I called a alternator shop and the guy told me I need something like 100amps per 1,000 watts, so that means I need 300amp altenator.

He also said that I should have 1 battery for every 1,000 watts...

ok, well, I only have maybe $250 max to spend. If you have ideas let me know.

if the headlights is your problem, just upgrade to HIDs, they dont dim lmao

O.P. if you have dimming issues, then you really need the HO alt to keep the voltage up. what batts are you running right meow?

Well, I have standard autozone undwer the hood and a exide deepcycle in the trunk. Not just any dimming issues. Chit fricken blinks at you at high volumes. I have it geared for competition. I guess I will try to come up with the $ for the alternator. before the 17th...

wow I cant believe youre dimming that bad. my buddy had a dimming issue in a honda civic w a 70 amp alt(right around there)- we did the big 3 with 1/0 and added a blue top he's sitting pretty right now. He is running approx 15-1700 watt amp we had a/c and all lights on and it dropped .6 volts

Yup. 2000RMS @2ohms is what it is. I figure with the drain on the batts and shitty alternator I am seeing half that. I deffinately need an alternator with alota POWER.
