it was a joke

I know, and its nothing personal

But.... It got old after the 3rd, 4th.. 34500909 time. And sometimes its get people into trouble. One kid came here and asked about a MTX 9500 or Sony 15" Xplod..... The joke was made about everyone setting records with the sony's... So the kid went and bought them. And he came back saying his system wasnt loud and he never came back.

They come here for advice and to learn, but with dipshits barkin off about stupid stuff is retarded

i'm going to say with sound quality still in mind
idmax

mach 4 audio IXL 12.22 (and you could get 2 for the price of a W7)

Fi q

SSA Icon
So these rival or are better than the dub 7 in sound quality? Now how do they do in the loudness?

And I'm sure ANY of these speakers will make me happy when I'm coming from two 10 inch Vegas in a ported box.

My vote goes to the TREO SSI. It can get very loud in a small sealed or ported enclosure and also has very good response. I currently run a 15 and have a 12 I'm thinking of putting in my girls car. They get pretty expensive retail, but if you're considering a W7, then its no prob. I can also speak from experience since I've owned two 12W7s and a 10W7. Just my 2cents

i try not to make comments regarding better or louder as i have no tested this comparison but i was looking for the same thing you were (a loud, nice sq subwoofer) and we've all got a little W7 killer in us i think... the answers i got were the ixl, the idq, the fi q, and the icon

of those 4 i would personally recommend (because youve got it already) 2 ixl 10's ported off of a zx1500, i say this combo because from what i understand the IXLs don't need all of a 1000watts to get loud, they sound great and they only come in dual 2 ohm configs, and its cheaper(my opinion someone feel free to prove me wrong) to get an amp that puts out good power at 2ohms, than an amp thats .5ohm stable. and the kicker amps are typically underrated, so with a zx1500 your probably looking at between 1650-1750 watts for the pair, between 800-900 each.

another thing, the ixl's are known to get very very low, which everyone likes... the IXL 10's are 165$ each, you could get 2 for 330, and take the money you would have spent on a 12W7 and put it towards a nice amp

last reason i like the IXL's they don't require alot of room. according to WIinISD, 2 10's would be VERY happy in 1.25 cubes ported, tuned from 30-33 hz they don't dip off -3dbs untill the 27-29hz mark (like i said... they get low)

its just a good combo, small box, deep bass, clear bass, loud bass, less expensive.

I can't garentee results of an ixl 12 up against a 12W7 i think its pretty **** close, but i would bet money that 2 IXL 10's off 1600watts would be louder than 1 12W7 off of 1000 watts... and sound just as good if not better doing it.

I also have a pair of the IXL 10s that I'm waiting to install. Only plan on using 800w to the pair and not concerned about lacking output. Flat response for the pair (before cabin gain) comes in a 1.5 cf box tuned to 25 hz, yes 25. Sealed they only want between .5 and .75 cf for the pair for an anechoic F3 of around 46hz. In car they'll get as low as you could ever need. Output sealed would be as good as any pair of 10s.
