2 12" Type R's Sealed or 1 15" Ported...?

Ok I need some opinions. First off I got 1350ish watts to play with here. Also I got 3-3.5ft^3 as well.

Right now I'm using 1 12" Type R. I had my 12" Fi Q in the car befor this, however just for fun I put in the the Type R... there is a pretty big output increase. Therefor I think I've decided to go ahead and do something different, to go with 2 12" Type R's sealed or 1 15" Type R ported (34hz).

It would be cheaper to go with 2 12" Type R's, since I get discounts on them. I guess I could also sell the Type R, and Fi Q for a 15" Fi Q. However I'm really not too happy with the output of the Fi Q. To me they both sound fine, the Fi Q is a little better sounding (to me), but the R's sound fine as well.

All in all I'm looking for the most output I can get with not spending a ton.

Your output from the 15" ported would be greater than the 12"s sealed. Why not do the 2 x 12"s ported???
Not enough room for 2 12's ported. The max space I have to work with is H-18", W-37" and D-10-12". From my understanding the R's want around 2ft^3 to go ported. It's not possible in my trunk.

I had my Type r's in a ported box with 4 cubes and 32 hz.... Recently I made a nice little sealed box because I was sick of no trunk space. For me I kind of got out of the whole who has the loudest system and shooting for more sound quality. I think the Type R's do just fine sealed and give me more then enough bump then I need.

you're queer if you're using type-R's for SQ

and to the OP, with the listed dimensions above, your grossing 4.6cu ft. i'de reccomend either the 15 ported in 4 cubes, the two 12's in as close to 4 cubes as you can get away with (it should work, probably around 3.75+port displacement), or if you really wanted a 2-sub setup, get 10's maybe?

Honestly I really don't see how much sound qualty you can get from 25-80hz. To be honest I can't really tell the difference between in SQ between the Fi Q and the Type R... well I can but only at peak volumes IMO. All I know is the Type R gets quite a bit louder than the Fi Q and the sound quality difference is not really even noticable.

18x37x12= 3.559ft^3 internal airspace with using 3/4" MDF //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Going with that size of a box is as wide as I can go, as tall as I can go and leaves 5" between the box and the end of the trunk. Having gas tanks in the trunk FTMFL!

Since most people in this thready probably haven't tested the two setups on a Termlab...

I have two different 2 12 boxes, and two different 15 boxes. The highest score that I could reach at the headrest with the 15 was 150.2 dB. With the 12's, the highest that I could reach was 149.8 dB. Each setup consisted of 3 batteries, 200A alternator, and a zx2500.1 @ 1 ohm.
