subwoofer volume too low?

My old pioneer sub was designed for a box with .65 cubic feet, the sundowns optimum cubic feet for a sealed box is .5 cubic feet, so I would assume a .58 box is fine, especially for the sd series which was designed for a smaller box, also the low notes hit perfectly fine. I'm thinking the main issue is the 4 volt rca are just not giving as much voltage as my old line out converter,. also I don't think it's my alternator as I tested the install in accessory mode, with a trickle charger. About the bass boost, I'm just trying to get the bass to an acceptable level, it only sounds right with the eq on Superbass, my old car I had it on -5 :/, even turning up the gain to half way on the amp doesn't produce enough bass, only the bass boost on the amp or headunit works, I'm just scared it will be clipping

Thanks!
