Subwoofer Suggestions for a Large SUV - Details Inside

hmmmm....
I'm thinking cuz it's easy to get loud in a small car since there's less air, it will compress more quickly.....

It's all a double edged sword. The less space you have to compress the better, but you also can't fit the cone area you need to get real loud. Large stuff walled will always be the loudest thing we have until we come up with 2.5" woofers that move air at 30hz

EDIT: Not trying to educate you, as I know you know. More like stating (complaining of) the obvious

what exactly are you looking for?you can get dome excellent equipment with that budget..

soundstream 1.1000 runs about 500 and a single fi q 15 with cooling and build you a transmission line..
A sub set up that can keep up with anything from a fast double kick drum to a long low bass line.

For a big vehicle such as yours I would honestly go with an 18. I always hear really good things about the 18 inch XCON woofer by SSA.

It runs a little over 400 if i'm correct for the sub, & I'm sure you could find an amp that could put out a good 2200 clean watts within your budget.

Honestly I've never looked at bigger amps, but I would really suggest that XCON sub. I have yet to hear something bad about them.

I like this one.

get 18's that don't require a ton of space to operate. personally i'd never use an 18 that required more than 6.5-7 cubes of airspace to operate well

Thanks for all the input guys. I've narrowed the sub choice down to a Fi BTL 15 or 18 with an appropriately sized amp. Kinda blowing the budget to ****, but that always seems to happen on these projects.
