Subwoofer setup for a 1976 Impala

I have a 1976 Impala 4 door with plenty of trunk space. I am going to run four 6x9's in the back and 2 sets of tweeters. Plus four 6 1/2's in the doors. i will power these with a old school Punch 800.4. In the trunk i am seriously considering running 4-15's or 6-12's. I have 3 Memphis 1000st amps and i can get another one if i decide to run the 15's. I will probably just run the kicker cvr's b/c they are realitively enexpensive and get pretty loud with good power. If you have any other suggestions on the a sub setup it will go into consideration.

if i choose either of these setups, they will be in seal boxes but will be chambered off. I was thinking of running 3-15's in a ported box but not sure it will do what i want.

I heard an older Impala today with 16 10's in it sealed. The car shook like hell and was loud inside but if you want any wowage outside the car....

Hell my 1 12 ported is louder then those 16 10's were inside and out:uhoh:

2 15's Ported and you'll have King Kong in your trunk:naughty:

I kind of feel your pain on deciding on a new setup. One thing that will help a lot is removing the rear 6x9s and leaving holes in the rear deck like jdawg said. I did this in my 04 Crown Vic and it made a world of difference. If you got to have speakers in the back, just fab some mount in your rear doors.

I heared 8 12s in a 74 Impala before definently was crazy, and I have heared 4 15s before too. 2 really good 15s ported would give you a lot of output and be nice and loud.

Ive had severel sets of the Kicker CompVRs and for the price there good woofers, but there are much better options out there if you want to really make some noise.

Open screw holes sound like a little muffler, loose box panels sound like a massager on a wooden table.
