Subwoofer setup for 1999 jeep cherokee sport?

What is it going in? a small trunk, behind the seat of regular cab pickup, a land yachet that room to spare.

What are you looking for sound wise? A little more depth your music, being heard down the block, or competition.

What kind of box are you wanting? Those aren't cheap.

How much power are you wanting to push? If you go for lot then you are looking at wiring the "big 3".

Is the rest of your stereo stock? If so you will have to budget in a line driver.

You will hear alot of SSA, Sundown, and Obsidian recommended. Depending one space constrainsand what kind of output your looking for, l like a 12in sub. A used speaker in good shape is definitely a good way to save money. There are some really good amps in the classifieds too. If you get a sub and amp for 100ish ea.,You still have 3 for a good box, wiring kit, and line driver. If you can read a tape measure and work a saw, you can get a plan for $30 or so and save alot in labor. A sealed box is very simple to make.

Behind the rear seat. I just want something that will have good quality and be loud. The box can take up the rear compartment which I believe is around 45 inches wide and 36 inches long. The box does not need to be that big. I'm not sure how much power I'm wanting to push because I'm not sure what subwoofers I am looking at putting in. I have 4 upgraded speakers (all 4.5in) and a new head unit. I plan on putting 2 6x9s in the back. I would like the box to be ported. Thank you very much for your reply, i appreciate it so much! I will check out those brands. Do you recommend any specific subwoofers? for an amp I plan on getting hifonics

I have a Sundown SA-12 running off 1K rms in sealed box. I had a Image Dynamics IDQ in before is which was very music. they are 200+ so I thought it might kill your budget with everything else needed. the Sundown has a little more thump and is still clear. Those are the only two that I have personal experience with so I can't honestly comment on the others. There are many threads comparing the 3 mentioned above.

The hyfonics brutus amps get good reviews for what they are. Audiopipe and MB Quart are some budget amps that are pretty popular here aswell.

You could fit a couple 12's in with room to spare if you wanted to. You could save some room go with 10's. You could fit a 15 if you felt like it.
