Subwoofer placement

If you have a sub box for one 15 and it was 40" wide. Would you put the subwoofer close to the port, farthest away or in the center? Port is 4.25" wide and 26" long

The port and woofer are 90 degrees out of phase so usually further away helps but it's different in every application

Ok that's what I was thinking too but wanted to be sure. I'll put the sub farthest left away from the port.

Bought a new car and the **** box I had wouldn't allow me to shut the hatch door.

Hatchbacks are almost cheater rides, 1-2 subs work best fired up.

Bounce off back glass and goes straight for the dash.

Over the years I've had a lot of systems in pickups, the 1 thing that always got me is I've sold systems to others with hatchbacks and it's not nothing for a hatchback car to pick up 1,2,and even 3 decibels over a truck cab.
