Okay i have a setup with

2x Digital Deisgn 1508 subs

with a custom box enclosure at 1.75cubic feet by 35HZ

Running on a

JBL GTO7001 Amp

Pushing at 2ohm makin up to 700rms

Signal from a

JVC AVX800

Preout amp at 5v

700rms /2 = should be roughly 350 rms underated power coming from my JBL

PROBLEM!:

In order to get get a decent amount of bass. I had to crank my JBL at 75% percent gain. Running 80hz LPF. WHY? .. it should not even be that high to even make the 8's hit. and These DD are capable are monsterous bass.. To get good bass not very good bass i had to crank it to max.. im scared of clipping my new amp. Please Help =(

SOLUTION?: MAYBE!?!

Well.. i'm thinking that it may be my wiring.? Could it be? i have a 4gauge running from battery to back. Hook onto a distributer 4gauge in - 2x 8gauge out. But the out - is 2x 4gauge wires push tightly into the 8gauge holes. The wire is extremely stiff. and not sure that may be the problem.. and incrediably sticky inside dont know. i found it :O lol. PLEASE HELP

are you shure your wireing from the amp to the subs is correct...

id do a run over...

them subs should be able to handle alot more than 350 rms

350 watts per 8 isn't going to give you too much bass. They are still just 8s, and it is still just 350 watts, whether or not they are DD or not.

They can handle a lot more than 350 rms. Their handling capability is not the question.

He needs more power or larger woofers.

if you think they're getting 350 in the best electircal and install situation, then you're mistaken.

I bet they're gettin 200 on a good day, when you take variable electrical situation and impedience rise.

8 Gauge out, what the ****?

pics of the box might help too, but it sounds like you're underpowering them.

Plus, they're 8's....its not like they're some super spl subs or something just because they can stick a DD sticker on the dustcap
