Subwoofer losing power?

okay, so ive established that i have a **** amp..and the subs have been made out to be something they arent..

well then, can somebody recommend an amp, that will power these 2 subs, and lights?
You don't power lights with the amp you just get ones that blink to sound.

First off yes amp is way to little power even for those subs plus u having the lights on there is stealing their power just get some neons that have the sync to music switch. The subs are dual 4 ohm which means you either have them hooked up at 4 or 1 ohm the amp is only 2 ohm stable so probably at 4ohm. Secondly At 4 ohm your giving the subs 100 watts if they are moving at all then they must be seriously over rated if they are suppose to be 700.
He's feeding them 150 watts each. They are dual 4's, and he said each is wired to its own channel. So the coils on each sub are paralleled to 2ohms, the amp is wired to 2ohm stereo, which according to the amp specs is 150x2.

OP, are you set on keeping those subs, and just replacing the amplifier?

Keep in mind guys, he's in Australia, so the usual recommendations of Fi Q's and SA-12's may not be a realistic option. If he's even interested in replacing the subs.

Already taken into account but he didnt say they where D4's just posted a link...

Ditch the lights man. As the boss said above not sure what you can get in Australia so if you could post what brands are available to you that would help people pick an amp out for you.

Oh thought it was a mono amp for some reason yea still under powering tho heh. yea Australia is going to be hard to order stuff or really expensive shipping.

Look at the equipment he was referred to purchase and bought. Telling him to post brands he can get his hands on is going to be like beating a dead horse. We could end up with him posting 40 brands that we would get from a flea market.

OP,

My best advice to you is to read as much as you can from this site. Learn as much as you can so you can figure out what brands are available in Australia that are mentioned positively in this message board.

Also, remember, RMS Wattage and Max Wattage are two completely different things and only one is ever relevant. Only look at RMS wattage, not Max. Make sure you are matching your impendence up correctly with your amp and your subs. Since you were steered the wrong way all together, more than likely, your wiring is all wrong too. Make sure your electrical system is up to par. If what I just said confused you, then you need to read and learn about car audio before you dive in and waste more money. Guys in car audio shops are complete morons, 90% of the time, and dont know what they are talking about

Oh yeah, don't wire anything extra into your amplifier other than speakers. They make neon tubes that are sound activated. They have a knob so that you can adjust how sensitive the sensor is. But for now, unplug the neon tube. You are changing the impendence of that channel on the amp.
