subwoofer for small enclosure

Hello,
Im looking for a 10'' subwoofer that will fit in a small enclosure.. The enclosure size is 6.5'' x 11.5''x 15'' or .65 cubic feet.... This is going into my dads truck, underneath his center console. He bought his truck and it had already a system in there.. he had to alpine amps, mp450 and mf450... mp450 powering the woofer exclusively.

So, my dad is not interested in putting a box underneath his rear seat, so im stuck with this limited space..

I've looked at dcon, icon, and sa 10". My dad wants something of higher rms, he doesn't believe when i told him most reputable subwoofer's will be able to handle more than their rms wattage.. thanks everyone..

Also this mostly for sq purposes, but it needs to get loud of course.
Why does he need subs that handle more RMS when your only working with 450 watts , and BTW i didnt read the entire thread so if someone else already brought this up disregard this. LOL

The previous sub was torn and ****.. most likely can be reconed but I dont know how.. thus I started a thread in search of a new sub that would work alright in very small, sealed enclosure

Well they are a good price but two things were bothering me.. 1) the two weeks shipping bullshit 2) they looked sketchy.. and no reviews for them besides you.. Idk.. are coaxial sets usually of less quality than 2 way sets?
edit: no need to be sorry man, you have helped me out alot, as well as others. Plus I read the thread about your shop getting broken into and all those oreders you got behind due to power outtage..

The HKs are just over looked by many because of being MA Audio and the lower price. The pics do make them look bad. If you want better pics hit me up, and I will take one out and take pics for you. If you are amping them I say stay with components they will give you much much better sound.

Definitely staying amped as I have my cadence sitting right next to me.. btw that kenwood deck i jsut got from crutchfield was acting up. It kept restarting, never found out what is triggering it. it wouldnt lose the time or anything, but the good thing is crutchfield is sending me another but since my current one I just bought is discontinued they are sending me the next model up for free.. which is cool ha

edit: and yeah send me some pics.. maybe I will grab them in the end.. can they truly handle 100 rms?

its ok to have more power then needed. means you wont have to put the gains up all the way etc to make them loud, which means less distortion and longer lasting subs. distortion is the numbe rone killer of subs not power. your sub ripped prob from distortionc aus eu had the amp cranked all the way up and pushing out massive distortion with bass boost on and gains all the way up. power almost never kills a sub

This was in my dads truck. Everything was installed prior to us buying it, previous owner had someone professionally install them or he/she did. I dont know what the gain is set at but I believe it ripped, personally, because the sorround around the jl is all foam, like sponge foam, very cheap to say the least.. and those phoenix would be okay if I kept my gain down? When you say that you mean I set the gain less than the square root of 125x4, or 22.4 pre amps?

fml.. to many options.. if i end up choosing the image dynamics, Ill be waiting closer till summer to purchase them.. Im working very minimal while im going to school full time..

foam has nothing to do with being cheap. some of the best subs have fioam surrouds, i personally like the sound of foam over rubber surrounds, distortion makes the sub rip, means the gain and bass boost is up, look at it, when u boost the gain you get distortion, will hsow up on an osciloscope, its the time between waves.

so the frequency is turned up so you get more waves per time span? this foam seems very weak though, just saying. Im not expert in car audio obviously. I'm just a beginning enthusiast.

no distortion creates heat, when your sending a clipped single, which in return creates rubbing coals and excesive movement = not good lol, always better to have more power and set gains appropriatly, then someone without an oscilloscope with a 600rms sub and a 600 rms amp trying to get the thing moving by putting the gain all the way up and bass boost on and clipping the sub, first thing is make sure the bass boost is it zero always.
