Featured Subwoofer box calculations

Can anyone tell me if the following calculations will work? The problem I am having is making sure the port is correct. Subwoofers and port facing forwards.

Box: Internal Volume 4.27cuft
50” Wide
16” Deep
12” Tall

Sub 8” qty: (4) total displacement 0.28cuft
Internal volume 3.99 after sub displacement.

Port Displacement: 1.19cuft
Freq: 33hz
6” Wide
10.5” Tall
32.5” Length

After all Displacements box will be 2.8cuft which will give 0.7cuft per sub woofer.

So, gross box volume is 4.27 if using .75" material. That port looks to about right as well, for 33hz.

That said, I would bump the frequency up to around 35-36hz, 33 is a tad on the low side for that driver with an Fs of 41hz So drop the port length to around 23.5" should do it. You will never heart the difference but your 8's will thank you.

That's a guess and you still need to model it to be sure.

Good idea to set the subsonic (HP) filter on the amp to around 26-27 hz.

Thank you for the update. Will adjust to 35hz. Will keep all posted once I complete the box.
