subs that compete with 05 XXX that cost less than $350 each

WTF???? Whatever JL's high end woofer is. W7, 13, whetever it is. It is an outstanding SQL sub. Also, Sacramento doesn't speak very highly of a person.

Ok, JL Audio's Highest end woofer is th 13W7, which has a 13.5 inch diameter. They are great woofers, but are way overpriced. Even on Ebay, this guy would only get one for what he's looking to spend.

I'd go with 2 Fi BTLs, 2 TC Sounds TC-3000s, or wait and grab one TC Sounds LMS 5400:yumyum:

Also, the TC3000 should fit the bill if you can up your budget a tad. Personally, I would go with the Brahma though.
On this particular forum, you won't see much praise for either though...
i've got a tc3000= not impressed at all. i've been wondering about the brahma tho.....if i remember right tho....Adire has been having some quality control issues? The markII's were the last brahma's ppl had a boner over.

i guess i probably should clarify before this thread goes any farther. When i mean compare to a XXX, i mean strictly in terms of SQL. Most ppl automatically think spl but to me and most of my crew its more 70sq/30spl or at a minumum 55/45.

Yea, the issues have supposedly been adressed. The MKIIIs were the ones with the problems. The people who have bought the MKIVs seem to be very happy with them. Plus its no biggy since Kyle @ acoustic-visions seems to be on top of things and I'm sure he'd take care of you.

I've been wondering about the TC3K though, what is it about the sub that didn't impress you?

haven't quite put my finger on it yet....i guess i just expected more out of it for the price. To be honest, one 12" RL-p had better sq and slightly more output than the 3000. maybe it's enclosure design but i built a very solid box that was designed with the tc3000's T/S parameters in the calcs and overall==i'm just not impressed vs. the price point on it.

I can see the RL-P having better SQ, but I'm really surprised that you didn't get more output from the 3K. How much power are you sending it?

hmmm wut is going on.... i give mine 1700 and no such thing has happened, and with the fatty voice coil the 3000 has it shouldnt be a problem
not sure...i know that the 12" and the 15" are essentially the same woofer except for the obvious...maybe i just got a sub-standard woofer.
