subs that are designed to play low and get loud

ill put money on it... in a car, while still being efficient.. the suspension/motor won't allow it.. the 9500 are that efficient anyways.. i used a good deal of woofers... the 9500 is made to have higher tunes in larger boxes with greator amounts of power, not for superior lowend capibilites.. i have tried to get 9515s flat, 4.5 tuned to 30 output is poor above 65 but it has good output around tuning up to about 55.. tried smaller boxes and lowen was very limited...Ive tried 3.5 to 12 cubes.lmfao as compared to a w7 or barahma in 4 cubes they just have much more lowend extention ... why tried to get a woofer thats not designed for the install to do so VIA box... also if the box WS the dominant factor there would be no ludest woofer per a given install... people for years have tried many woofers in a specific install changing out dozens of woofers and boxes yet only ONE combonation of the 2 work best.. the woofer is very important in having a great souning and/or loud system.. not all cars are the same..

You didn't have the right enclosure and it seems you only tampered with ported enclosures. 9500s would struggle to be flat in a ported enclosure and have decent bottom end due to the influence it has on the port. Those 9500s are excellent drivers for expanding transmission lines with horn like throats though. The horn would have excellent control of the drivers and would be much more efficient in the bottom end than a ported enclosure would have and nothing would be sacrificed up top. If the expansion rate is small enough (making it more of a transmission line), you can get a workable design in a car that wouldn't be much larger than a ported counterpart.

I have been able to make my av12 sound like anything I want it to in my car and I have been able to get all sorts of responses out of it. I was able to get the sub to play lower, louder, be more efficient, and handle power better than it's larger ported counterpart by putting it into a transmission line. I can also make it very peaky around tuning with a rolling off top end. I can also make it fart and have no bottom end at all.
