1 DC LVL 4 15 or 2 Type R 12's

Pretty much set on these 2 as WinISD spits out basicly the same numbers, the type R's put out about a .5 DB more below 33HZ but the DC LVL 4 according to WinISD puts out 1.5DB more at 40HZ

Box 4.2 cubes tuned to ~32HZ

1600wrms

I can get 2 type R's for ~$260, the DC LVL4 is going to run me a little bit more than that.

DC subs are bada*s woofers for sure and have proved themselves to be very loud and reliable. Plus if u have any issues w/ them Rusty is an awesome guy and any of their reps will be able to help u out ASAP w/ any problems.

 

Neither sub is better, its more what you're looking for in a setup.

 

If it was my setup i'd run the Lvl 4 in 4ft3 @ 34hz, 50sq in of port w/ 2 6" aeros.

i hada dc lvl 4 15...it was an amazing sub...but i got mine much cheaper then that

i loved my type Rs off 2k. in 4 cubes at 32hz. never used the DC but hear nothing but good things.

Ive heard both. I like the single DC better. Id get a Level 4 XL if I were you. Same box specs, but a louder sub over the standard trim if you will. Im feeding mine about 1200-1400wrms and it takes it perfectly fine. Ive got mine in a 4 cube box after displacement ported tuned at 33Hz and it gets loud and stays pretty crisp.

The lvl4 he quoted me also had the lvl5 coil. Im not sure if that improves performance beyond just power handling.

it was an upgrade over the other coil, its still only the 33LB motor, instead of the 55lb on the XL.

Now i have a decision to make

$225 for a LVL4 shipped (2weeks old)

or

$300 for a LVL4 new With a LVL5 coil

i just emailed asking for a price on a LVL4XL

i know the motor is different, but im not sure how the LVL5 coil affects the T/S parameters so... they could be very similar in the end

Each port would have to be 30" long with 2 6" aeros. 1 of them would work for a box that size.
