I know dealers/builder won't recommend going over rated, I'm current going over rated on my VVX15 by like 1000rms handles it like a champ.

So you think that 8" will have better SPL and SQ than the two Alpines? while still being louder and cleaner?

As Better n Reverse said you'll need to put a lot more power to the 8(s) to get past the cone area of the 2 Type E's if you want to go over rated then give the VVX8's a try on like 1.2-1.5k or try BnR custom 1500watt 8"

You are going to need to throw a lot of power at an 8 to be louder then your Alpines since they have the advantage of cone area... Id look at the new Sundown V2' date=' DD 2508, Or like I said I have an 8 that should take around 1500rms daily...[/quote']

that custom 8"....how is it like condition wise? does it still run well? any problems with it?

Its pretty much new... Been tested in a box a few times by the builder then I free aired it for a bit but thats it...

i plan on giving up a little more space than specified in this picture... Redirect Notice

dont worry about the set up they have just focus on how much available space there is...i could probably have it come out 3-5 more inches and be fine

thats in a coupe but id say there still a decent amount of space...im focusing on the space available not the actual enclosure set up
