Subs making unhealthy noise

Okay, so yesterday I went to my friends house who is semi-interested in subs and everything. So I said he should listen to mine, they kick *** (RE SX). So he was like ok, pop open the trunk and crank it. I did and I went back to hear such a weird sound coming from the sub, it sounded as if it was hitting something. I never heard this in the front of the car, only when I went back to look at it, and now I notice it when I listen closely. So I felt around maybe it was the air making something rattle, nothing, it was the sub. So today I took it off and looked at it. The sub doesn't scrape when i push on it. I took the sub and shook it to see if there were any loose parts (?). Nothing. What should I do?

Can I fix a Tinsel Slap?
The tinsel leads may be a little too big. You can clip the leads where they're soldered on the terminal, and push down on the cone so you can see how much room they need for when the sub moves. Then resolder to the terminal and you should be good.

Post a pic of the tinsels if you could also.

Thanks Fusion freak, ill take a look at it tomorrow, and maybe take pictures and all.

Edit: Can I please note that the subs weren't always making these sounds

I have also see on here where a few people use the soft side velcro on the back of the cone. I'm sure this would be a little easier fix....and you dont have to worry with cutting the tinsel leads too short.

Thats a really good idea. I didn't even think of that.

Well, I put the velcro on and it didn't help.
